How to get there?

Poznań is well connected in terms of public transport and micromobility. Events taking place here are accessible by various means of transport.

By public transport

  • by bus – the “Solna” bus stop is located 190 meters from the school; on Solna Street.
  • by tram – the “Plac Wielkopolski” tram stop is located 500 meters from the school; at Plac Wielkopolski.

By car

It is possible to drive right up to the school entrance.

Parking: the school is located in the Śródmieście Paid Parking Zone, valid from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Parking fees are paid in parking meters located on the street (some meters only accept coins) or via an app. The nearest parking spaces are located along Solna Street. There is also a parking lot right next to the school, which is free on weekends. The entrance to this parking lot is from Stanisława Hejmowskiego Street , right by the intersection with Solna Street.

Scooter

In Poznań there are electric scooter rentals operated by operators such as Uber/Lime, Bolt or Dott. However, there is an obligation to leave the scooter at Hop&go mobility points, marked with information plates with a blue bubble and the white inscription “Hop&go”. The obligation to leave rented scooters at the points presented above applies to areas covered by the Śródmieście Paid Parking Zone and the Paid Parking Zone, i.e. the Old Town, Jeżyce, Wilda, Łazarz, Ostrów Tumski, Śródka and Piotrów. Failure to leave the scooter at the designated Hop&go point will result in the inability to terminate the rental and the fee will continue to be charged. In locations outside paid parking zones, it is recommended to leave shared equipment at Hop&go points, but this is no longer obligatory.

By bike

Poznań is well connected with bicycle paths. There are over 138 kilometers of bicycle paths and over 97 kilometers of pedestrian and bicycle paths in Poznań. However, the Poznań City Bike rental system no longer operates. Bicycle racks are located right next to or in close proximity to the Hop&go points described above in the Scooters section.

By taxi

There are several taxi companies operating in Poznań. Information about them and their telephone numbers can be found on the official website of the city of Poznań: TAXI corporation in Poznan.

Taxis for people with disabilities are provided by Hanna Florczak “EURO-TAXI”. Transport is available 24/7. A taxi should be ordered at least 12 hours in advance by calling + 48 61 811 11 11 or sending an e-mail to centrala@euro-taxi.com.pl. Event location

The Poznań Secondary School of Music of Mieczysław Karłowicz in Poznań has existed since 1950 and is distinguished by the fact that it is the only one in Poland with a violin-making department.

Entrance to the building

The entrance to the school building, where the Aula is located, is from 12 Solna Street, from the parking lot. The entrance to the Aula is in the place where the wall of the building is reddish at the top. To the right of the entrance is the Polish coat of arms and a board with the name of the school. The entrance is through a wide, glass door. There is a slight doorstep at the entrance.

Where is the room where the event takes place?

The auditorium is located on the 1st floor. It is accessed via a staircase located directly to the left of the entrance. There is no elevator in the building.

The space where the event takes place

  • The auditorium is large, the audience capacity is about 200 seats. It is well lit. It is not air-conditioned.
  • The seats are not numbered, the chairs are traditional. There is a possibility of taking a seat for people moving in wheelchairs.

Toilets

There is a toilet in the building, which is quite narrow, but it has handrails and a sink mounted on a lower level. It is located from the entrance behind the second glass door, on the right side.

Accessibility tools

You can enter the auditorium with an assistance dog or guide dog, but please bring your dog’s certificate and current vaccination certificate with you to show to the staff.

Return / after the event

If the event taking place at the cinema ends late, you can return by public transport, both by bus (the “Zamek” bus stop is located 750 meters from the cinema; on Aleje Niepodległości Street) and by tram (the “Ratajczaka” tram stop is located 150 m from the cinema, on Świętego Marcina Street and the tram stop “Aleje Marcinkowskiego” is located 200 and 300 meters from the cinema.
