A unique concert by Lake Malta. L.U.C. and Rebel Babel Film Orchestra will present a special version of the music to the film “The Peasants” (Chłopi) in the open air for the first time before the autumn tour with the participation of special guests.
Władysław Reymont in “Peasants” used simple language and proverbs to create rich, epic, and extremely colorful work of the highest linguistic level. L.U.C. he got inspired by this concept, using only classical folk instruments to create a beautiful one and extensive music, inspired by cinematography, trance and classical folk music.
What distinguishes this project is a modern approach to production and innovative ways of expression. It is a fascinating world of animated art, where every brush stroke is full of life. Scenes from animation in a new version and behind the scenes of production give a unique look at our artistic work trip. Here the tuba sometimes sounds like a Moog bass synthesizer in dubstep. traditional instruments, such as cradles, drums, wind instruments, accordions and unique regional ones, such as the Płock violin, Biłgoraj souks, flutes, tubmars and Greater Poland bagpipes combine to paint a vivid soundscape.Ethereal vocals weave seamlessly into this mosaic.
A modern approach to arrangement, rhythm and sample manipulation reinterprets various folk instruments. Traditional forms and classifications are often changed and reinterpreted. Rebel Babel Film Orchestra includes both traditional three-note meter, with a lively rhythm of a mazurka, as well as a usually two-part phrase structure, set to a flexible rubato tempo, designed for dancing. Additionally, the orchestra reaches for simple time signature and steady rhythms, including an energetic polka.
