Poté, the curator of the music programme at the festival club, will perform a DJ set on September 7, the first day of the festival. He creates music that is raw and expansive, combining the rhythms of his heritage with emotional songwriting. His musical path, which includes collaborations with the Enchufada label, Benji B and Damon Albarn, is full of diverse influences.
Born in St. Lucia, he moved to London with his family at the age of 12 in search of greater opportunities. His first releases were focused on club production but with an emotional edge. Poté quickly gained recognition in the music community, and his collaborations with artists such as Benji B and Branko of Buraka Som Sistema contributed to the release of his debut EP, “Voyeurism”.
After the release of “Spiral, My Love” in 2018 and the support of Benji B, Poté gained recognition as an artist who could combine his heritage with new musical influences. His move to Paris in 2019 and work on his new album, “A Tenuous Tale of Her”, brought him new perspectives and artistic courage. The album, which was originally conceived with theatrical performance in mind, combines personal reflections with grandiose concepts, while collaborations with Bonobo and Damon Albarn shaped his vision.
