The starting point and inspiration for our search was the painting and literary work of Leonora Carrington – her surreal visions in which humanity magically coexists with nature, and what in reality seems absurd and impossible takes the form of a captivating, more real than fairy-tale, everyday life. Moreover, the artist believed that female power, exorcising the world of violence, could protect us from a catastrophe – including an ecological one.

That’s why we want to invite the audience to experience, encounter and celebrate the relationship between man and nature; spend some time in the ephemeral, utopian illusion of a new/eternal community that can, however, actually affect our attitude towards the environment. In the peculiar and grotesque artistic forms and abstract, ritual activities we work on, we see the potential for intuitive, sensual and emotional opening to the still unknown, infinitely renewable and universal life-giving energy.

The Trema Group was established as part of the activities of the Antrakt Scientific Club. Our goal is to work collectively on an outdoor show combining visual arts, performative activities and social involvement based on affirmation, empathy and care.
